What the app does

RePix: Files & Photo Recovery helps users browse shared storage, search files and folders, create folders, copy, move, rename, delete, and organize files. It also scans accessible shared storage on your Android device to help find recoverable hidden, cache, thumbnail, trashed, and low-resolution image files. The app can copy selected items to a recovery folder. If you choose AI enhancement, selected recovered images are uploaded for processing.

The app does not claim to recover overwritten raw disk data. On non-root Android devices, it cannot scan raw disk sectors or other apps' private directories that Android blocks.

Data we access or collect

Files and folders: The app can list and manage files and folders in shared storage when you use file manager features such as browse, search, copy, move, rename, delete, and create folder.
Photos and image files: The app scans image files and image-like traces in accessible shared storage. Scanning is performed on your device. Selected recovered files are copied to the app recovery folder.
Uploaded AI enhancement images: If you start an AI enhancement job, the selected recovered image is uploaded to Firebase Storage and processed through our backend provider layer.
Google account information: If you sign in with Google, we receive your Firebase Auth user ID and may receive your display name and email address.
Credits and purchase records: We store credit balance, free-upscale status, ledger entries, Google Play product ID, purchase token hash, order ID, and related purchase verification data.
Job data: We store AI enhancement job status, selected preset, source image metadata, result storage path, and processing status.
Technical data: Firebase and Google services may process logs, device, crash, performance, and security-related data needed to operate the app and backend.

How we use data

To provide file manager features such as browsing, searching, copying, moving, renaming, deleting, and creating folders in shared storage.
To scan for recoverable image candidates on your device.
To copy selected recovered photos to your recovery folder.
To authenticate users for credits and AI enhancement.
To process AI enhancement jobs and return enhanced results.
To verify Google Play purchases, prevent duplicate credit grants, and maintain a server-side credit ledger.
To prevent abuse, troubleshoot issues, provide support, and maintain app security.

Sharing and processors

We do not sell personal data. We use service providers to operate the app:

Google Firebase: Authentication, Functions, Firestore, Storage, and App Check.
Google Play Billing and Google Play Developer API: Purchase processing and server-side purchase verification.
fal.ai: AI image enhancement provider. Images are sent to fal.ai only when you choose to start an AI enhancement job.

Storage and retention

Local recovered files remain on your device until you delete them.
AI input and enhanced result files may be stored in Firebase Storage so the app can display and save results.
Credit ledger and purchase records are kept while your account is active and as needed for fraud prevention, accounting, tax, dispute handling, and legal compliance.
Support emails are retained as needed to respond to your request and maintain support records.

Security

We use Google Firebase security rules, Firebase Authentication, App Check, server-side credit transactions, and Google Play purchase verification to protect account and purchase data. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, but we use reasonable safeguards appropriate for the app's functionality.

Your choices

You can use file manager and recovery scanning features without signing in.
You control which files are copied, moved, renamed, deleted, recovered, or enhanced.
You can choose which recovered photos to copy or enhance.
You can delete recovered or enhanced files from your device gallery.
You can sign out of the app at any time.
You can request account deletion using the instructions on our Account Deletion page.

Children

RePix: Files & Photo Recovery is not designed specifically for children. We do not knowingly collect data from children for targeted services.

Changes

We may update this Privacy Policy as the app changes. The latest version will be posted on this page with an updated date.
