Why RePix: Files & Photo Recovery requests storage and media access

All Files Access

RePix: Files & Photo Recovery uses All Files Access for its core file manager and deep recovery features. This access is needed to browse shared storage folders, search files, create folders, copy, move, rename, delete, and organize files selected by the user.

All Files Access is also used to search shared storage for recoverable image traces that may not appear in the normal gallery, such as thumbnail folders, cache-like folders, hidden folders, trashed media, and low-resolution image files.

The app does not use All Files Access to read private app data blocked by Android, modify files automatically, or upload your files automatically. File operations are initiated by the user.

Photos and media access

Photos and media permission helps the app read image files that Android exposes through the media system. It is used for scanning, previewing, recovering selected files, and showing recovered or enhanced images.

Network access

Network access is used for Google Sign-In, Firebase account and credit ledger operations, Google Play Billing verification, and AI enhancement jobs started by the user.

User control

Recovery scanning does not require sign-in. AI enhancement and credit purchases require Google Sign-In because credits are stored on the backend account ledger.
